Henderson Equine Clinic is happy to announce our latest in-clinic

therapeutic and rehabilitation tool

is an

Equine TheraPlate!

The TheraPlate is a vibrational plate controlled by vortex wave motors.  With settings from 0-
100Hz (cycles per second) the impact free vibration can be customized to increase circulation,
relax stiff muscles, and provide isotonic exercise to our equine patients.

Vibration plate therapy has been studied in humans and animals, focusing on increasing
circulation and its ability to mimic the effects of traditional exercise and weight bearing.  Studies
have found that just 15 minutes on a vibration plate prevented the bone resorption seen in non
weight bearing situation
s such as bed rest or persons in space for periods of time.

In horses the TheraPlate is being used to support horses with laminitis, abscesses, arthritis, and
other chronic conditions or stiffness
where increased blood flow may be helpful.  It is also extraordinarily
helpful in maintaining fitness in stall rested horses.  It provides isotonic exercise to horses with
wounds, tendon and ligament injuries who need restricted motion.   Many riders are using
TheraPlate to warm up their performance horses prior to competition.

TheraPlate sessions typically last 15-20 minutes and may be indicated 1-3xday or as needed.
We are able to schedule TheraPlate sessions on a haul in basis between 8-4 Monday through
Friday, or horses may be boarded at the clinic for treatment.

TheraPlate
treatments combine well with routine chiropractic exams and can be used in
conjunction with our Class IV K-Laser.
