Dentistry

Complete equine health care requires routine dental care. At Henderson Equine, we can provide motorized dentistry at your farm or at the clinic. Motorized dentistry is faster and often more thorough than traditional "hand floats". We do sedate the horses for this procedure, which helps to alleviate anxiety (in horses, vets and owners!). The sedatives are tolerated well and are very safe.

Emergency Services

Henderson Equine Clinic (and Small Ruminants!) has 24 hour, 7 days a week emergency coverage.  One of our goals is to prevent as many emergencies as possible. Our medical philosophy stresses preventative medicine. We recommend yearly physicals, vaccinations, and regular fecal evaluation and deworming for all your animals.

If you are wondering if your situation is a true emergency, it is best to call as soon as you discover the situation and discuss the matter with our veterinarians.

First Aid is important for every animal owner to know and understand. Bonny has spent the last few years authoring a book on equine first aid that should be available in late 2012

We understand that emergencies are stressful for all involved.  We pride ourselves on prompt, thorough and compassionate care at all times.  Please do not hesitate to call if you have concerns after regular business hours.

Kinesiology taping

Kinesiology taping affects the body completely differently from that of non-elastic athletic tape and can often times be confusing. The effect of Kinesiology taping is based on its ability to interact with the skin and associated neurosensory and mechanoreceptors. Elastic kinesiology tape does not compress the tissue as does other types of tapes and taping methods. Its design characteristics and associated application techniques, decompress tissue thereby allowing for increased circulation. This lifting principle behind the decompression also influences and thereby impacts how pain receptors respond to the messages associated with swelling and or inflammation.
